Congratulations! You have completed your orthodontic treatment at CHT, and now it’s time to switch over to wearing retainers. Retainers are an essential part of your orthodontic treatment because they help ensure that your teeth don’t shift once your braces are off. Your first removeable retainer is included with treatment and your treatment fee. If you lose or break your initial retainer, we understand that accidents can happen (you can step on them, forget them on vacation, and dogs love to chew on them!) Remaking retainers is expensive, which is never fun. Don’t panic! We have launched our new Retainer Assurance Program, which provides an alternative for retainer replacements.

What is the Retainer Assurance Program?

In the simplest form, you can think of it as insurance for your retainer. The Retainer Assurance Program will allow you to have a removable retainer replaced as needed, up to four times a year (once per quarter), for a total of five years once treatment is completed or once the program is purchased.

The cost of the program is $900. As reference, an individual removable retainer replacement currently is $300.

How does it work?

We take a 3D scan of your teeth after your braces are removed or you’ve completed your Invisalign treatment. The scan will provide you with a 3D model that future retainers will be made from. You will receive this model regardless if you sign up for the program or not.

If you need a new retainer remade, you will drop off the 3D model at the front desk with the patient’s name and schedule a time to pick up the new retainer. There will be a $25 copay for each remake ($50 copay without the model).

*The retainer program fees are non-refundable or transferable. This program covers any lost, broken, or damaged removable retainers. Fixed retainers are not eligible to be covered under this program. If your removable retainer does not fit based on the 3D model due to improper wear, additional fees will apply and not be covered by the program. You will be responsible for keeping and bringing your 3D model to the office for fabrication.
